The Kingwood Township Vol. Fire Company No. 1 was established in 1938 to provide fire suppresion for the township of Kingwood.  Through the years our coverage area has expanded into portions of Alexandria and Deleware Townships.  The members of this department are all professionally trained, 100% VOLUNTEER, donating countless hours to assist our residents in their time of need.  Want to get to know us better?  Stop down on the 1st or 3rd Monday night of each month and we’ll give you a tour.  Perhaps that tour may inspire you to help our community by joining our brotherhood.

At 13:46 today, Kingwood Township Vol. Fire Co No 1 and Kingwood First Aid and Rescue Squad were alerted for a structure fire off County Route 519 in the Township. Barn in the rear of the property reported as a fire in the wall. Chief 16 (Floyd)and Deputy 16 (Drake) arrived to nothing showing from the exterior. Workers on the scene moved animals from the building, no animals were harmed during this incident.

The Chiefs’ and homeowner quickly extinguished the fire and checked for extension. Chief Floyd held the response to 16 fire units once the fire was extinguished. Quint 16 with Lt Komoroski, Tender 16 with Lt. Giles, and Utility 16 with engineer Spargo assisted with the overhaul. 14 members staffed this mid-day call. The Fire Marshals assisted with the investigation.

After the emergency was over, all members took the opportunity to refamiliarize themselves with the building and contents.

Thank you to our mutual aid partners that were quickly on their way to assist. Crews from Sergeantsville Vol. Fire Co., Stockton Fire Co., Quakertown Vol. Fire Co., Frenchtown Fire, Lambertville Fire Dept. all were responding but cancelled while enroute.

Since 1938, our mission is to serve and protect the residents of Kingwood Township by fighting fires, raising awareness of fire prevention, and assisting our community in times of need. We are staffed by dedicated friends and neighbors who live within our community, and volunteer 100% of their time.
